Luke Deakin, a British backpack and a dream, walks from his home in the United Kingdom to the south -East Asian, a trip of more than 8,000 miles, and has just revealed his exact route.
The Gloletrotting Trekker has been on Instagram and Tiktok for months, walking alongside Brit Sophie’s companion. Daring Journey went viral after a clip fires a popular Reddit group.
“Right now I am walking from England to Vietnam and this is the route I have taken so far and the route I will take,” DEKIN explained in the video, originally released on February 28.
“On September 16, 2024, I started walking from Stratford-UPon-Avon to France and then in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Then I headed to Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria.”
At that time, Deakin struck her through Greece, with Turkey on the cover.
Along the way, it has been filmed: chats with premises, snack criticism and currents with cows on the road.
“It will take me about two months to cross Turkey where I will go to Georgia, Azerbaijan and then take a ferry to Kazakhstan,” he said.
“This is where I will face the logistical nightmares that spend hundreds of miles without food and water. The long section of Uzbekistan moved to Afghanistan, Pakistan and then to India.”
“Why do I do this? To show that normal people can do great things and have the adventure of a lifetime. Then I will cross Bangladesh, Myanmar and down through Thailand. Sailing for the heat of 40 degrees and the rainy season, and then I will cross in Cambodia, in the Vietnam of Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi where I will end my trip.”
On June 3, Deakin posted an updated video on how he stays online during the trip. “As I stay connected as I walk from the United Kingdom to Vietnam! Without SIM card hunt, no expensive plans, only instant data anywhere in the world,” he wrote, connecting the Sail application. “It’s something I use every day on my trip!”
He doubled on the clip: “Keeping -being connected to my phone is important … Imagine how difficult this trip would be without the internet.”

He has already accumulated 570K followers on Instagram and 236.4K in Tiktok, but not everyone is a fan. In Reddit, skeptics questioned their odds.
“People spend 5-7 months walking along the Appalachian path … This boy has no possibility,” a hater took.
Another feature: “He has already walked in the United Kingdom to the east of Turkey … far beyond the Appalachian path.”
Some argued that the real challenge was not mileage, but the map. “More politically defiant than physical,” he wrote one. “Walking through two or 3 countries that deal with the Civil War or the direct war of the war.”
Others on Instagram applauded, “I love to follow your journey. So f – king,” wrote a fan.
On his YouTube update on June 1, Dakin revealed a visa dilemma: he had six days in Turkey with 750 kilometers yet to go. “I want to overcome the visa for about two or three weeks and pay the fine,” he said.
“We are in Turkey. We have walked through 11 countries.” And they are “for another year on this trip”.
